The world of beauty pageants welcomes 2009 with the release of many calendars featuring our favorite beauty queens and kings. From sassy to classy, here are some good examples that come from Switzerland, Italy and Brazil.

The Mister Switzerland Organization has brought together its last four winners to pose for the pageant's official photographer Sandro Bross. They are Renzo Blumenthal, 31; Tim Wielandt, 34; Robert Ismajlovic, 33; and Stephan Weiler, 24, the reigning Mister Switzerland. The results you can check in the next photos. The winner of the "Il Più Bello D'Italia 2008" title - or "The Most Handsome Man of Italy" - aspiring actor Francesco Allegra, 29, is one of the Zodiac models in the "I Modelli dello Zodiaco" calendar, which is already a tradition in the country.

Model Miky Falcicchio, 27, also a contestant in the "Il Più Bello D'Italia" pageant, is in the “Angeli 2009" calendar. Photos were taken by Fabrizio Cavallaro and the sales will benefit the research for the cure of Aids. More information at www.emanmultimedial.it.

Mr Gay Italy 2008, Antony Cortinovis, has released his own calendar for 2009. The profit from the calendar will also go to  HIV and  AIDS research. You can purchase the calendar at www.mistergayitalia2008.it.

The winner of the Miss Italy 2008 title, Miriam Leone, is all dressed up in 12 beautiful (and very classy) images that celebrate the pageant's 70th anniversary. She posed in different sites of Rome for four young photographers (Gaia Tofani, Omar Ricci, Emanuele Menduni and Francesco Berardinelli). More information: www.missitalia.rai.it .

Former Mister Brazil and Mister World 2007 first runner-up Lucas Gil is featured in the 2009 calendar of Brazilian nightclub "The Week Internacional".

The calendar also celebrates the 20th anniversary of L'Equipe Agency, one of the leading modeling agencies in Brazil. Lucas (who represents the month of November) and another 17 male models from L'Equipe were photographed by Didio.
