No dia 17 de outubro, o Teatro Calil Haddad foi palco da eleição de Miss e Mister Maringá 2004, em concurso capitaneado pelo casal Elaine e Wall Barrionuevo.
Dezoito garotas e dez rapazes disputaram os títulos principais e desfilaram para o júri composto, entre outros, pelo atual Mister Mundo e convidado especial do concurso deste ano, o modelo mineiro Gustavo Gianetti; o diretor nacional do concurso Miss Brasil, Boanerges Gaeta Junior; a Miss Paraná 2003, a sexy Elaine Lopes; e o jornalista Perácio de Melo, editor do site 'Grau 10'.
A apresentação do concurso ficou a cargo de Wall Barrionuevo e Cristina Calixto.

Entre os rapazes, lideraram de ponta a ponta os candidatos Edson Luiz de Assis Teixeira Filho, 17 anos; Thiago Philiph Gouveia, 19 anos; e Junior Marculino, 22 anos.
Na reta final, o jogador de futebol Hugo Gonçalves Tait, 21 anos, driblou Junior Marculino e garantiu a terceira posição.
Eleito Mister Fotogenia, Marculino ficou em quarto lugar, empatado com Fabio Luiz Cavalheiro, de 20 anos. Na quinta posição, ficou Paulo Roberto Souza, 20.
Disputando seu primeiro concurso de beleza, o novo Mister Maringá, Edson Teixeira, também eleito Mister Internet, tem apenas 17 anos, está cursando o terceiro ano do segundo grau e pretender estudar Comércio Exterior ou Administração de Empresas. O segundo lugar do Mister Maringá 2004 ficou para Thiago Gouveia.

Entre as mulheres, a disputa ficou polarizada entre as candidatas Heloísa Christina Zeferino Beraldo, 18 anos, e Anelize Garcia, de 21.
Num resultado justíssimo, venceu a exuberante loira de 1m71 de altura, deixando a bela morena de 1m77 em segundo lugar. A vice Anelize pode vir a representar outro município no concurso estadual.
Linda, loura e dona de um sotaque super charmoso, Heloísa pretende cursar Direito e tem tudo para brilhar no concurso estadual. A jurada que a elegeu Miss Model chegou a compará-la a uma jovem Candice Bergen, mas Heloísa lembra mesmo a atriz Bruna Lombardi e a Miss Brasil 74, Sandra Guimarães.
A nova soberana já foi Miss Maringá Mirim 1994 e, nos últimos anos, viveu em Santa Catarina, retornando ao Paraná este ano. "Quero evoluir, aprender mais, vou me preparar bem para o Miss Paraná", disse, confirmando as suspeitas de que o título estadual pode ficar em casa este ano, já que Heloísa disputa o Miss Paraná 2005 em sua própria cidade, também no Teatro Calil Haddad, no próximo dia 26 de novembro.
O terceiro lugar do Miss Maringá ficou para Renata Souza Marquetti, 21 anos, também eleita Miss Internet. Em quarto, ficou Thaís de Paula Gorla, 18 anos, justamente premiada com o título de Miss Fotogenia. A quinta posição foi ocupada pela sexy Jéssica Rodrigues Vitorino, 19, uma das candidatas mais completas do concurso.
Os títulos de Miss Elegância e Miss Simpatia foram, respectivamente, para duas veteranas do Miss Maringá: Sabrina Tayse Fernandes de Almeida, 20 anos, que disputou o concurso no ano passado; e Mariana Kordelos Diniz, 20, que participou em 2001.
Destaque também para as seguintes candidatas: Carla Silva Biondo, de 21 anos, que tem grande potencial, mas não rendeu na noite do concurso; Vanessa Baddini Tobias, 19, em excelente apresentação; Naiara Rodrigues Botelho, 18, muito alta e simpática, com um excelente pique e jeitão de modelo; e a herdeira dupla da dinastia Dallas, Suélen Pâmela Moreschi, 20 anos, que deixou o aparelho ortodôntico de lado, tropeçou na passarela, mas encantou a todos.

As atrações musicais foram o jovem cantor Rodrigo, sempre excelente, e a banda Brasil 2000, num bom show que agitou o público presente.
Conforme fôra adiantado pelo 'Grau 10', a Miss Maringá 2003, Vanessa Alves, não esteve presente para coroar sua sucessora, já que se casou e mudou-se para Londres. Em seu lugar, veio a segunda colocada do ano passado, Thaís Pismel, que entrou para a história do concurso ao beijar sua faixa de vice na competição de 2003.
Embora também tenha se casado recentemente, o Mister Maringá 2003, Fábio Reis, marcou presença e passou o título para seu sucessor.
O mais assediado por mulheres e crianças foi, sem dúvida, o Mister Mundo, Gustavo Gianetti, que distribuiu sorrisos e autógrafos incansavelmente ao público que lotou o teatro.
Destaque também para a presença de dois finalistas do ano passado, Anderson Peternella e Eliéser Ambrósio, que foram prestigiar o evento deste ano. Eliéser venceu recentemente a etapa paranaense do concurso de modelos da agência Ford e prepara-se para disputar a final nacional.

Em tempo: para as garotas de 12 a 16 anos, estão abertas as inscrições para os concursos Miss Teen Maringá e Miss Teen Paraná. A imagem do concurso é a bela modelo Lainne Tôrres e o tema é "beleza jovem lutando contra o câncer". O concurso acontece no dia 12 de dezembro, no Teatro Marista de Maringá. Last October 17 the Calil Haddad Theater was the stage for the finals of the Miss and Mister Maringá 2004 pageant, held under the guidance of producers Elaine and Wall Barrionuevo.
Eighteen girls and ten boys competed for the titles and were judge by, among others, the reigning Mister World - and this year's special guest - Brazilian model Gustavo Gianetti; the national director for the Miss Brazil pageant, Boanerges Gaeta Junior; Miss Paraná 2003, sexy Elaine Lopes; and journalist Perácio de Melo, from Grau10.net website.
The pageant was hosted by Wall Barrionuevo and Cristina Calixto.

In the male competition, the front-runners were 17-year old Edson Luiz de Assis Teixeira Filho; Thiago Philiph Gouveia, 19; and Junior Marculino, 22.
In the last moments of the competition, soccer player Hugo Gonçalves Tait, 21 anos, left Junior Marculino behind and won the second runner-up position.
Also elected Mister Photogenic, Marculino was third runner-up, tied with Fabio Luiz Cavalheiro, 20. The fourth runner-up was Paulo Roberto Souza, 20.
A newcomer in the world of pageants, the new Mister Maringá, Edson Teixeira, also selected as Mister Internet, a 17-year old, is finishing his studies in high school and has plans to go to college. The first runner-up in the Mister Maringá 2004 competition was Thiago Gouveia.

For the female title, the strongest contenders were Heloísa Christina Zeferino Beraldo, 18, and Anelize Garcia, 21.
Deserving every inch of her crown, the gorgeous blonde beat the striking brunette, but first runner-up Anelize will probably represent another city in the State pageant.
Beautiful, blonde and speaking with a charming accent, Heloísa wants to study Law and is already being considered a front-runner for the State pageant. The judge who selected her as Miss Model compared Heloísa to a young Candice Bergen, but she's probably closer to Brazilian actress Bruna Lombardi and to Miss Brazil 1974, Sandra Guimarães.

The new queen won the Miri Miss Maringá 1994 title and, in the last few years, was living with her family in another State, Santa Catarina, returning this year to her homeland. "I wanna grow and learn more about it to be ready for the Miss Paraná competition", said, with the conviction of somebody who knows that she can bring the State title for her city, since the Miss Paraná 2005 pageant will be held in her home, again at the Calil Haddad Theater, next November 26.
Second runner-up was Renata Souza Marquetti, 21, also selected as Miss Internet. Third RU was Thaís de Paula Gorla, 18, one of the best faces in this year's pageant, also selected as Miss Photogenic. The fourth RU was sexy Jéssica Rodrigues Vitorino, 19, one of the best contenders for this year's title.
The Miss Elegance and Miss Congeniality titles were given to candidates who competed for the Miss Maringá title in previous years: the first went to Sabrina Tayse Fernandes de Almeida, 20, who run for the title in 2003; and the second to Mariana Kordelos Diniz, 20, also a contestant in 2001.
There were a strong group of contestants this year: blonde Carla Silva Biondo, 21, who must learn to shine on stage; Vanessa Baddini Tobias, 19, with an excelent performance; tall Naiara Rodrigues Botelho, 18, always smiling, a good bet for a model career; and Suélen Pâmela Moreschi, 20, who probably got her name from the 'Dallas' series and is a total charmer.

Musical guests included young singer Rodrigo, always a strong voice, and Brasil 2000 band, a group of singers and dancers with lots of energy.
As we told before in the News section, Miss Maringá 2003, Vanessa Alves, wasn't available to crown her successor, since she got married and is living in London. Replacing her, last year's first runner-up, Thaís Pismel, who made history by kissing her second-place sash in the 2003 competition.
Also a newly wed, last year's male winner, Fábio Reis, was in hand to congratulate the new Mister Maringa.
Girls and children were crazy about the reigning Mister World, Gustavo Gianetti, who flashed enough smiles and signed enough autographs to his tireless crowd.
Two of last year's finalists for the Mister Maringa title, Anderson Peternella and Elieser Ambrosio, were in the theater to meet the new winners. Eliser just won the State selection for the Ford models agency contest and will participate in the National finals.

Coming up: girls from 12 to 16 years old are elegible for the upcoming Miss Teen Maringá and Miss Teen Paraná pageants.
